In 2012, after running a workshop as part of the York Big City Read, with a theme of ‘medieval’ Karen wanted to create a community project in conjunction with York Learning based on the Bayeux Tapestry.

Members of the community came together to recreate their memories of York on an A3 board following the style of the original tapestry. The finished artwork consisted of 107 boards stretching end to end for over 200 ft. It was exhibited in York Art Gallery in February 2013
