A York Learning city-wide project - led by Karen Winship and Claire Douglas

After being asked to design a piece of land art for the Grand Depart (Tour De France) by York council to take place July 2014 Karen designed the project and produced a painting. This was then divided into 1cm square sections and replicated on 320 individual one-metre square panels by members of the local community, including learners from York Learning and local schools.

The completed artwork spanned 320 square metres and was showcased from an aerial perspective to a TV audience on the day of the Grand Depart.

Limited edition prints of the original painting are available from Karen
